This illusionary piece is based on a childhood interest I had of collecting butterflies and moths. It was created by drawing each butterfly or moth with pencil, ink, and color pencil. I then cut out each one with scissors and an x-acto knife, and then mounted them with pins just like a traditional insect collection.
